Role Overview

The After School Program Mentor fosters youth development in an after school setting by leading elementary students in enrichment activities. This non-exempt, part-time position averages 17-20 hours per week. As a Christian ministry, Mentoring Alliance serves kids and students in our community by offering awesome after school care and activities.

What You Will Do

The main day-to-day responsibilities of an After School Program Mentor include leading elementary students in enrichment activities, working with a team to develop kids to reach their full potential, and serving kids and families in our community.

Requirements

  • Agree with and exhibit behaviors in accordance with the Mentoring Alliance Statement of Faith
  • Must be at least 17 years of age
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred
  • Some post-secondary training highly preferred
  • Have a passion and love for working with elementary school-aged children
  • Experience working with elementary school-aged children is preferred
  • Able to work Monday - Friday 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. during the school calendar year
  • Ability to earn CPR/First Aid certification (mandatory)
  • Pass Mandatory Background/Sex offender check
  • Valid driver’s license or Valid ID
  • Legally allowed to work in the United States
  • Have dependable transportation
  • Spanish-speaking ability greatly valued
