Role Overview

The After School Site Director plays a key leadership role in delivering high-quality after-school programming for elementary school students at public, private, and charter schools. This is a school-year, part-time position (September - June) focused on the daily implementation, safety, and culture of a single after-school site serving approximately 30–100 students.

Key responsibilities include meetings & office hours, training expectations and responsibilities, daily and weekly operations, programming and special events, administrative systems & task management, budgeting & finance support, family & school partnership, staff leadership & scheduling, and health & safety.

Why It Might Be a Fit

Our ideal Site Director would meet some or all of the following qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in the areas of Early Childhood or K-12 Education, Psychology, Social Work, Physical Education, or a related field is strongly preferred. Possess at least 3-4 years of experience working with children ages 4-11 in academic or recreational settings (summer camp, after school, tutoring programs).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in the areas of Early Childhood or K-12 Education, Psychology, Social Work, Physical Education, or a related field
  • At least 3-4 years of experience working with children ages 4-11 in academic or recreational settings
  • At least 2 years of prior leadership experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with different age groups (children, staff, parents)
  • Ability to communicate at a high level by email, internal chat messenger (Slack), in-person, and on the phone
  • Personal organizational skills - manage their time and tasks independently
  • Ability to problem solve quickly, communicate effectively, and display good judgment when operating a youth program
