Role OverviewServes as a principal assistant to the agency's General Counsel, exercising independent judgment and unreviewed action. Participates in formulating agency-wide policy and advises the General Counsel on proposed legislative changes.
What You Will Do
Analyzes and resolves legal queries and issues, including contracts, liability claims, labor disputes, and civil service matters. Renders legal opinions to the General Counsel and other executive staff.
Why It Might Be a Fit
Must have one year of satisfactory United States legal experience or six months of satisfactory service as an Agency Attorney Interne. Must remain a Member of the New York State Bar in good standing for the duration of employment.
Requirements
- Admission to the New York State Bar
- One year of satisfactory United States legal experience
- Six months of satisfactory service as an Agency Attorney Interne
- Assignment Level I or two years of comparable legal experience
- Two years of experience in Assignment Levels I and/or II or three years of comparable legal experience
