Role Overview

GBLI is a specialty property and casualty insurance company seeking an AI Engineer to design and build AI-powered applications and integrations. The role involves leading implementation of small- to medium-scale AI solutions and contributing to larger enterprise initiatives. The AI Engineer will work with business stakeholders to gather and refine requirements and collaborate with technical teams to ensure solutions are production-ready and maintainable.

What You Will Do

Design and build AI-powered applications and integrations, lead implementation of small- to medium-scale AI solutions, translate business requirements into technical architectures, and ensure data quality and readiness for model training and inference.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, data engineering, or AI/ML engineering, with experience in developing AI/ML solutions in production environments and proficiency in Python and common AI/ML frameworks and tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • 5+ years experience in software engineering, data engineering, or AI/ML engineering
  • Experience with multi-paradigm databases
  • Hands-on experience developing AI/ML solutions in production environments
  • Proficiency in Python and common AI/ML frameworks and tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders and technical teams
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, or GCP)
  • Solid understanding of data security principles and handling of sensitive data
  • Understanding of responsible AI, data governance, and IT governance in a regulated environment
