Role OverviewThe Aircraft Mechanic I troubleshoots malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces, and controls, and makes repairs to aircraft and follows direction of higher graded workers. This mechanic repairs, replaces, and rebuilds aircraft structures, such as wings and fuselage, and functional components, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment.
What You Will Do
Performs duties as Ordnance Team Member, processes Visual Information Display System/Maintenance Action Forms, assists in coordinating aircraft moves and static display requirements, and performs all other required duties as applicable and assigned by supervision.
Why It Might Be a Fit
Must be knowledgeable of technical directives, NAMP programs, and basic supply procedures, and have experience writing with clarity and technical accuracy.
Requirements
- Two or more years' aircraft maintenance experience
- Qualified and certified Ordnance CDI Team Leader IAW OPNAVINST 8023.24 and MCO 8023.3D
- Must be able to work shift maintenance as required
- Must be able to work flexible work-week schedules as required
- Must be able to climb ladders, raised platforms, and work on top of and below aircraft
- Must be able to use hand and power tools
- Must have dexterity to handle small parts
- Must be able to deploy to support off station exercises and perform other support duties as assigned
- Satisfactory completion of a National Agency Check Local Records Check and Credit (NACLC) or Access National Agency Check with written Inquiries (ANACI) resulting in eligibility for a SECRET clearance
- Must be eligible for Common Access Card (CAC)
