Role Overview

The Aircraft Survival Flight Equipment Technician II is responsible for maintaining and repairing aircraft survival and flight equipment, including helmets, parachutes, life rafts, and communication devices. The work requires knowledge of mechanical and electrical repair procedures, pyrotechnic and explosive devices, and aircraft egress systems.

What You Will Do

Troubleshoot malfunctions, perform maintenance procedures, read and interpret technical data, and requisition repair parts. Perform phase, scheduled, unscheduled, and other inspections, and use chemical sealants. Perform general housekeeping and FOD prevention duties.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience as an Aircrew Survival Flight Equipment Technician, completed Aircrew Survival Equipmentmen (PR) 'A' School, and be ordnance certified. The candidate must be able to work flexible schedules, pass a background check, and climb ladders and aircraft.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as an Aircrew Survival Flight Equipment Technician
  • Completed Aircrew Survival Equipmentmen (PR) 'A' School
  • Ordinance certified per OPNAVINST 8023.24/MCO 8023.3
  • Ability to work flexible schedules
  • Pass a background check
  • Ability to climb ladders and aircraft
