Role OverviewThe Airport Security ID Technician performs a wide variety of specialized tasks in support of federally regulated aviation security operations and programs. They serve as the primary point of contact for employers and employees acquiring San Francisco International Airport (SFO) ID badges and keys. The technician processes airport badge and security key requests, collects fees and fines, and ensures compliance with Airport Security Program (ASP), local and federal regulations, and Transportation Security Administration (TSA) directives.
What You Will Do
The essential functions of this classification include verifying proper identification of applicants, responding to customer inquiries, processing airport badge applications, and performing fingerprint duties on all airport employees, tenants, vendors, and/or students applying for an airport ID badge.

They will also have one year of experience in a security licensing or credentialing office and three years of clerical experience working in a high-volume public contact office environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED or High School Proficiency Examination)
- Two (2) years of progressively responsible clerical experience working in a high volume public contact office environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent data entry skills and attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills
- One (1) year of experience in a security licensing or credentialing office
- Three (3) years of clerical experience working in a high-volume public contact office environment
- Working knowledge of CFR Part 1542
- Working knowledge of TSA and FAA rules and regulations
