Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated American Sign Language Interpreter (ASL) to join our team for a full-time, school-based opportunity in Pulaski, Tennessee for the 2026–2027 school year. As a school-based ASL Interpreter, you'll provide communication access for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students throughout the educational environment.

What You Will Do

You'll interpret spoken English into American Sign Language and ASL into spoken English while maintaining the meaning, intent, tone, and context of communication. Your responsibilities may include providing accurate and effective ASL-English interpretation during classroom instruction, discussions, and school activities.

Requirements

  • Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English
  • Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 3.5 or higher
  • Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) certification preferred
  • Completion of an Interpreter Training Program (ITP) or ASL-English interpreting program preferred
  • Associate or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Previous experience interpreting in K–12 educational settings strongly preferred
