Job Description
This is an independent contract self-employment position with a flexible work schedule. The interpreter will be providing interpreting services primarily in the healthcare setting in Modesto.

Requirements

  • Fluency in both American Sign Language and English
  • Demonstrated experience providing accurate, complete, and clear interpretation in medical, legal, and community settings
  • Strong ability to interpret orally between American Sign language and English in both directions
  • Proven ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
  • Skilled in meeting the communication needs of medical professionals, patients, government agencies, community organizations, and internal stakeholders
  • Combination of formal interpreter training and/or relevant professional experience
  • Must be based in Modesto Area
  • Willingness to obtain required medical clearances, including vaccination/immunization records and background checks, as necessary
  • Possession of a valid California license
