Role Overview

The AMPP Certified Coating Inspector Level 2 will monitor and inspect the work of Contractors to ensure quality control and contract compliance for bridge structure coatings under the direction of the Construction Manager.

What You Will Do

The main day-to-day responsibilities and outcomes include monitoring and inspecting the Contractor's coating operations, scheduling work and inspection phases, advising contractors of violations, and preparing detailed inspection reports.

This role requires effective communication, task and time management, and functional computer usage, including familiarity with Microsoft office suite software. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of applicable contract specifications, testing procedures, and inspection documentation requirements.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of the Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP) Certified Coatings Inspector Program
  • Minimum of 2 years of bridge coatings inspection experience
  • Demonstrated ability to perform coatings inspection duties independently
  • Working knowledge of applicable contract specifications, testing procedures, and inspection documentation requirements
  • Certification & Issuing Agency: Intermediate Work Zone Traffic Control - VDOT Approved Provider, 10 Hour OSHA Safety Training - OSHA, Certified Coatings Inspector - AMPP
