Role OverviewThe Application Developer will be part of a comprehensive, multiyear modernization initiative to replace aging legacy systems and transition to a unified, cloud native environment. The role will involve building a modern Azure-hosted pension administration system that integrates seamlessly with existing systems.
What You Will Do
The Application Developer will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining application components that meet functional and technical requirements. This includes developing APIs, system interfaces, and automation workflows, as well as performing all aspects of application development, including coding, unit testing, documentation, code reviews, and submitting pull requests.

- Knowledge of modern application development frameworks, programming languages, and secure coding practices

- Knowledge of TRS business rules, including those specific to the Pension Software System
- Familiarity with legacy systems architecture, dependencies, technologies, and integration points
- Skill in performing all aspects of application development, including coding, unit testing, documentation, code reviews, and submitting pull requests for TRS staff to review
- Skill in developing, enhancing, and maintaining application components that meet functional and technical requirements
- Skill in developing clear, actionable user stories and maintaining a prioritized backlog
- Skill in developing APIs, system interfaces, and automation workflows
- Ability to deliver high-quality work output with minimal defects
- Ability to translate technical specifications into maintainable, production-ready software
- Ability to collaborate effectively with TRS technical staff, analysts, testers, and project managers
- Ability to manage multiple development tasks and meet established timelines
