Job Description
Role Overview

As an Applications Engineer at SCHUNK, you will manage the complete customer quotation and order lifecycle for custom and specialty-engineered components. You will prepare and deliver customer quotations, proposals, and sales orders in a timely and accurate manner. You will review customer specifications, drawings, models, and application requirements to develop effective technical solutions.

What You Will Do

Your main day-to-day responsibilities will include interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation, collaborating with customers and SCHUNK Design Engineering teams, and developing project timelines. You will also provide technical support, product training, and application guidance to customers, distributors, and internal sales teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and hands-on experience in CNC machining, metal cutting, workholding, fixturing, or toolholding applications.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and experience working with CAD/CAM software, 3D models, and STEP files.
  • Ability and willingness to quickly learn and effectively utilize internal business systems, including ERP and CRM platforms.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly to customers, distributors, sales personnel, engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and analyze technical drawings, engineering specifications, operating instructions, maintenance manuals, and other technical documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including identifying root causes, evaluating alternatives, and implementing effective solutions.
  • Self-motivated and customer-focused with the ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a cross-functional team environment.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across departments, including Engineering, Customer Service, Operations, Production, and Sales, to achieve business and customer objectives.
