Job Description
As the Appointed Actuary, you’ll be responsible for assessing the asset adequacy for Brighthouse Financial’s operating companies, providing independent actuarial opinions, and leading regulatory engagement. You’ll serve as a critical steward of the organization’s financial strength, shaping strategic risk management, and ensuring the company’s long-term financial stability.

Requirements

  • FSA and MAAA with 10+ years of industry experience
  • At least 3 years of experience serving as an appointed actuary
  • Experience in valuation and/or ALM roles
  • Deep expertise in asset adequacy testing, VM-30, statutory valuation, and cash flow modeling
  • Strong understanding of life insurance and annuity products
  • Proven experience interacting with senior management, regulators, auditors, rating agencies, and Boards
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to build strong partnerships and influence stakeholders
  • Ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Confidence in making decisions, utilizing all available information and considering downstream impacts
