Role Overview

As an Appraisal Manager/Appraisal Manager II, you will oversee the real estate appraisal and evaluation process for commercial banking and ensure it is compliant with regulatory requirements and Bank policy. You will support the Director of Credit Underwriting by overseeing the appraisal review operations and staff. This role is a hybrid position preferred, with a requirement to reside in WA state. The Appraisal Manager/Appraisal Manager II will work Monday – Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with a 40-hour workweek.

What You Will Do

Your primary responsibilities will include overseeing the real estate appraisal and evaluation process for commercial banking, monitoring appraisal policy, maintaining an approved Appraiser list, and interacting with appraisers to assure timelines and quality of appraisals. You will also manage the Bank’s commercial appraisal and evaluation platform, provide appraisal-related services, and prepare periodic regulatory reports.

This position requires a valid Washington State Certified General Real Estate Appraiser License, 3 years of experience appraising and/or reviewing appraisals of Commercial Real Estate for Level I, and 7+ years of appraisal review experience and AI-GRS and/or MAI designations for Level II. You will also need to demonstrate effective leadership and team building skills, maintain a high level of quality control standards, and have strong interpersonal skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or equivalent experience
  • Valid Washington State Certified General Real Estate Appraiser License
  • 3 years of experience appraising and/or reviewing appraisals of Commercial Real Estate for Level I
  • 7+ years of appraisal review experience and AI-GRS and/or MAI designations for Level II
  • 2 years of management experience
  • Reside in the state of WA
  • Knowledge of and compliance with all Federal and State regulations and the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice
  • Continuing education as required by the Washington State Dept. of Licensing
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and bank-related software
  • Demonstrated effective leadership and team building skills
  • Ability to maintain a high level of quality control standards
  • Ability to apply quality control standards in all areas
  • Ability to manage sensitive information regarding Bank customers, Bank employees, and regulatory matters
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Self-directed and capable of working both independently and collaboratively
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including professional etiquette and service mentality
  • Skilled at business communication, both verbal and written
  • Strong professional demeanor and high regard for confidentiality
