Role OverviewAs an Apprentice, you will perform construction and maintenance of overhead and underground distribution lines and structures in accordance with Oncor's construction standards manuals. Work involves conductors and equipment energized at distribution voltages, utilizing approved protective equipment and tools. This on-site position will have an assigned service territory within our Oncor Electric Delivery Company market and be based out of our Dallas Southwest Service Center.
What You Will Do
Perform tasks under the direction of others and with the approval of the supervising authority, utilizing approved protective equipment and tools. Available to be on-call in the scheduled rotation, available for overtime work, and 24-hour call-out is required.
Why It Might Be a Fit
Able to work off wood poles, insulated platforms, and bucket trucks using approved safety practices and rules is required. Successful candidate will be expected to live within 60 minutes of the service center with 30 minutes or less preferred.
Requirements
- Class A CDL driver's license
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent
- 4 plus years of related distribution utility construction work experience
- Certificate or degree from an accredited lineman school
- Associate's degree in electrical technology or related field
