Role OverviewAs an Apprentice Lineman, you will perform construction and maintenance of overhead and underground distribution lines and structures in accordance with Oncor's construction standards manuals. Work involves conductors and equipment energized at distribution voltages, utilizing approved protective equipment and tools. This on-site position will have an assigned service territory within the Oncor Electric Delivery Company market and will be based out of our Mexia Service Center.
What You Will Do
Perform tasks under the direction of others and with the approval of the supervising authority, including climbing wooden poles, using approved safety practices and rules, and working off wood poles, insulated platforms, and bucket trucks.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The successful candidate will be expected to live within 60 minutes of the service center, with 30 minutes or less preferred, and to comply with the Code of Conduct at all times and to participate in local safety programs.
Requirements
- Class A CDL driver's license
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- 4 or more years of related distribution utility construction work experience
- Certificate or degree from an accredited lineman school
- Associate's degree in electrical technology or a related field
- Ability to provide proof of successful lineman and safety training programs
