The Apprentice Substation Technician In-Training role involves performing effective substation maintenance/testing and operation activities to safely keep the lights on for the assigned area.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in electro-mechanical, electronics, electrical technology
  • OR associate's degree or certificate of completion from an approved community college or correspondence school in a related field
  • OR substation technician experience within the District or with another utility or electrical contractor
  • Maintain commercial driver's license (CDL), switchman certification, and other certifications as required
  • Obtain and maintain cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid certification
