Job Description
Carter Machinery Company is hiring an Apprentice Technician for our Heavy Equipment operations in Lynchburg, Virginia. We offer a 15-month Apprenticeship Program with training and development opportunities to troubleshoot and diagnose diesel equipment problems, perform repairs, and more.

Requirements

  • Self-starter able to work with limited supervision and meet deadlines.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficient in the use of a computer, Microsoft Office products and service software required in position.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to read and understand operating manuals.
  • Must be able to occasionally operate heavy equipment.
  • Must be self-directed, organized, able to interact with coworkers, and work as an integral part of a team.
  • Must have excellent driving record.
  • Must be able to work all shifts and overtime as needed to meet customer needs.
