Role OverviewThe Aquatics Coordinator supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Maintains safe swimming conditions in the pool, on the deck, and surrounding areas. Creates a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.
What You Will Do
Maintains active surveillance and control of the pool area, assists in department program development, addresses member concerns, and supports the overall Aquatic team. Assists with swim lessons, serves in various aquatics roles, and performs equipment checks and chemical testing.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will have certifications in CPR, AED, Basic First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen, as well as current YMCA or ARC Lifeguard or equivalent. They will be able to maintain certification-level physical and mental readiness and demonstrate lifeguard skills in accordance with YMCA standards.
Requirements
- Minimum age of 18
- Certifications: CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen
- Current YMCA or ARC Lifeguard or equivalent
- Ability to maintain certification-level of physical and mental readiness
- Must demonstrate lifeguard skills in accordance with YMCA standards
