Role OverviewUnder general supervision, the Area Supervisor - Highway Maintenance will supervise and coordinate maintenance and repair operations within a designated geographic area involving streets, highways, bridges, tunnels, and related transportation infrastructure. The role involves planning, assigning, directing, and evaluating the work of asphalt truck drivers, ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely movement of materials to work locations. The Area Supervisor will also coordinate daily operations with roadway maintenance supervisors, paving crews, dispatch personnel, and other units to support planned and emergency maintenance activities.
What You Will Do
The main day-to-day responsibilities of the Area Supervisor - Highway Maintenance will include planning and coordinating maintenance and repair operations, directing the work of asphalt truck drivers, ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, Department rules, safety regulations, and standard operating procedures. The role will also involve providing instruction and on-the-job training to assigned employees, maintaining and reviewing manual and electronic records, and preparing reports and providing operational information to supervisory personnel.
