Role OverviewThe Arkansas Highway Police Patrol Officer is responsible for enforcing state laws regulating the use of public highways, with a special emphasis on commercial vehicles and private non-passenger transportation vehicles.
What You Will Do
Examples of work include enforcing laws related to axle and gross weights, motor fuel taxes, and the movement of oversize loads and vehicles, as well as conducting traffic and criminal enforcement.

Requirements
- Current certification by the Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training or the ability to acquire certification within nine months of initial employment
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to successfully complete required North American Standard Level I Inspection Procedure Parts A and B courses
- Pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol test
