Job Description
Enforce state laws regulating public highways with emphasis on commercial and private non-passenger transportation vehicles. Conduct traffic and criminal enforcement, investigate criminal activity, and testify in court. Collect revenues and exercise full law enforcement authority.

Requirements

  • Education and experience: The educational equivalent to a diploma from an accredited high school.
  • Physical requirements: Skill at firing a weapon proficiently and consistently, ability to lift 100 pounds, bend, stoop, and climb, pursue, subdue and restrain suspects, and engage in pursuit driving and control a vehicle at high speeds.
  • Licenses, registrations and certifications: Current certification by the Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training or the ability to acquire certification within nine months of initial employment.
