Role OverviewThe School Safety Officer position is a part-time role that requires a current Texas Level III Commissioned Armed Security License. The officer will be responsible for conducting bag checks, setting up and operating open gate magnetometers, and responding to active threats on campus. The officer will also work closely with FBISD police officers and assist administration with complaints concerning unauthorized persons on campus.
What You Will Do
Conduct bag checks, set up and operate open gate magnetometers, respond to active threats on campus, work with FBISD police officers, assist administration with complaints, escort district personnel, and maintain proficiency in all requirements and training for Texas Level III Commission.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will have three years of commissioned armed security employment, a minimum of three years of full-time peace officer position, and be honorably discharged from the US Military. The candidate should also have experience in school safety, sports, and event screening.
Requirements
- Current Texas Level III Commissioned Armed Security License
- Ability to own a 9mm firearm with a Level 3 holster
- U.S. Citizenship
- Age 21 or older
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Background check and training
- Pass a drug test
- Pass firearms qualifications
- Good moral character
- Ability to work effectively with youth and adults
