Role Overview

The Asbestos Abatement Coordinator will provide technical support related to asbestos and lead issues affecting construction and facilities projects. This role is ideal for an environmental or construction professional with hands-on experience in asbestos and lead assessment, sampling, abatement design, monitoring, and regulatory compliance.

What You Will Do

Key responsibilities include providing technical support, preparing site assessments and abatement designs, reviewing environmental consultant reports, conducting site surveys, and monitoring environmental work during construction.

The ideal candidate will have experience in asbestos and lead assessment, sampling, design, monitoring, and abatement, as well as certifications such as AHERA asbestos course certificates, EPA Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) Certification, and California Department of Public Health Lead Inspector/Assessor/Project Monitor certification.

Requirements

  • 5 years of full-time professional construction experience involving asbestos/lead assessment, sampling, design, monitoring, and abatement
  • 2 years of relevant professional construction experience plus a current California Certified Site Surveillance Technician (CSST) certification
  • Current California Certified Asbestos Consultant (CAC) certification
  • AHERA asbestos course certificates: Building Inspector, Management Planner, Contractor/Supervisor, and Project Designer
  • EPA Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) Certification
  • California Department of Public Health Lead Inspector/Assessor/Project Monitor certification
