Job Description
The Asbestos Department provides essential and specialized services that support the maintenance and operation of NYCHA's developments. The Asbestos Handler is responsible for overseeing vendors performing asbestos abatement, conducting site inspections, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Valid Asbestos Handler Certificate or Asbestos Handler Supervisor Certificate issued by the New York State Department of Labor
  • Valid Asbestos Handler Certificate or Asbestos Handler Supervisor Certificate issued by the New York City Department of Environmental Protection
  • High school diploma or its educational equivalent
  • Two years of satisfactory, full-time experience performing asbestos abatement
  • Motor vehicle driver license valid in the State of New York
