Role OverviewThe Asset Protection/Safety Investigator is responsible for protecting Navy Exchange assets through investigative strategies and auditing controls to prevent and minimize loss potential. The role involves maintaining surveillance, detecting suspicious activity, and investigating incidents of fraud, waste, and abuse. The investigator will also conduct audits, research, and accident investigations, as well as maintain physical security and fire/safety controls.
What You Will Do
The main day-to-day responsibilities of the Asset Protection/Safety Investigator include maintaining surveillance, detecting suspicious activity, preparing case reports, conducting audits, and researching incidents of cash variances and suspicious register transactions. The investigator will also conduct accident investigations, maintain physical security, and provide assistance to management in evacuations and implementing Force Protection/Anti-Terrorist measures.
Why It Might Be a Fit
To be a fit for this role, the candidate should have 1 year of experience in law enforcement or investigative work, or 2 years of experience in clerical office or retail sales store work. The candidate should also be able to demonstrate a knowledge of general law enforcement methods and techniques, as well as possess a Secret Clearance within 6 months of appointment.
