Role OverviewThe Assistant Athletic Trainer will serve in the Department of Athletics as the primary athletic trainer for the Women's Tennis and Spirit Squad programs and assist in the daily operations of the Sports Medicine Department. This position is responsible for providing healthcare services to assigned student-athletes, including the prevention, evaluation, treatment, management, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries and illnesses under the supervision of the Team Physicians, Director of Sports Medicine, Associate Director of Sports Medicine, and Head Athletic Trainers.
What You Will Do
Provide medical coverage for assigned practices, competitions, performances, workouts, and team travel while collaborating with Team Physicians, coaches, and Sports Medicine staff to develop treatment and rehabilitation plans and facilitate safe return-to-play decisions. Maintain accurate medical records, coordinate referrals, ensure proper use and maintenance of athletic training equipment, and assist with inventory and budget planning.

The ideal candidate will have a Master’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher education, NATABOC Certification, and Arkansas Athletic Trainer license. They will have experience in developing and implementing treatment and rehab programs, working in a SEC or Power 5 conference, and providing athletic health care for women's tennis and/or spirit squad.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher education
- NATABOC Certification
- Arkansas Athletic Trainer license (or eligible to obtain license)
- Independent decision-making experience relating to the care and treatment of injured/ill student athletes
- Experience developing and implementing treatment and rehab programs
- Experience with Dry Needling, augmented soft tissue, Joint mobilization
- Experience working in SEC or other Power 5 conference
- Experience providing athletic health care for women's tennis and/or spirit squad
- Knowledge of University, SEC, and NCAA rules
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work nights and weekends (on-call 24/7, 365 days a year)
