Role OverviewThe Education Section represents Ohio’s 36 public colleges and universities and several state agencies. The Section’s attorneys represent client agencies in federal court, state court, and in administrative hearings. The attorneys also provide legal advice to public colleges and universities and state agencies on various legal issues.
What You Will Do
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience working as an attorney and preferably will have experience in federal court. The attorneys will represent client agencies in federal court, state court, and in administrative hearings, and provide legal advice on various legal issues.

The candidate will have a strong understanding of legal compliance, student affairs, college governance, policy, employment issues, health care, transactional matters, public relations, public records and open meetings, and administrative procedures.
Requirements
- Licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio pursuant to Section 4705.01 of the Ohio Revised Code;
- At least 5 years of experience working as an attorney;
- Federal Court experience, preferred.
