Role OverviewThe Assistant Attorney-in-Charge (AAIC) will provide legal and managerial leadership to the Bronx Trial Office, working closely with the Borough Attorney-in-Charge. The AAIC will supervise staff, provide direct representation in client service, and respond to client, community, and staff concerns. The AAIC will also participate in Practice-wide management discussions and decision-making, and maintain relationships with other stakeholders in the legal, court, and service communities.
What You Will Do
The AAIC will be responsible for office leadership and program management, including providing direct supervision and training support to Juvenile and Adolescent Defender Practitioners. The AAIC will also analyze legal issues, lead and support legal strategy, and supervise their implementation. Additionally, the AAIC will represent JRP and Legal Aid in the community and participate in continuous professional development.

Requirements
- Admitted to the NYS Bar
- 5+ years of legal practice in child welfare and/or juvenile delinquency practice
- Substantial litigation experience required
