Role Overview

The Assistant Beverage Manager assists the Food & Beverage division in managing all restaurant outlet and banquet bars as successful independent profit centers and ensuring maximum guest satisfaction in consistency with Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay and Hyatt Standards.

What You Will Do

Collaborate with Outlet Managers and the Director of Banquets to curate seasonal cocktail menus, train servers and new bartenders on proper bar procedures, and create, prepare and maintain house-made syrups, shrubs, tinctures and bitters.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years' experience bartending, preferably in an upscale or fine dining environment, and strong spirit and classic cocktail knowledge. They will be proactive, exercise good judgment, and be able to creatively problem solve and anticipate needs of guests.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience bartending, preferably in an upscale or fine dining environment
  • High school/ Secondary school diploma or official equivalent
  • Ability to obtain TIPS, ALE (or equivalent certification in alcohol safety) and other related training
  • Level 1 sommelier/WSET certification preferred
  • Strong spirit and classic cocktail knowledge
  • Ability to research and stay in touch with current liquor and cocktail trends
  • Experienced in using percentages and pricing menu items based on cost and spirit rarity
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills
  • Proactive; exercises good judgment; can creatively problem solve and anticipate needs of guests
  • Strong organizational skills; must be able to multi-task and prioritize work
