Role OverviewThe Assistant Beverage Manager assists the Food & Beverage division in managing all restaurant outlet and banquet bars as successful independent profit centers and ensuring maximum guest satisfaction in consistency with Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay and Hyatt Standards. This role supports the Outlet Managers and Director of Banquet in overseeing daily bar operations, ensuring high-quality service, maintaining inventory, and achieving financial targets.
What You Will Do
Collaborate with Outlet Managers and the Director of Banquets to curate seasonal cocktail menus, train servers and new bartenders on proper bar procedures, create and maintain house-made syrups, shrubs, tinctures, and bitters, lead tasting and cocktail/spirit presentations, and provide general support and assistance to the department, leadership, and company.

Requirements
- Customer service experience and front desk experience preferred
- High school/ Secondary school diploma or official equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years' experience bartending, preferably in an upscale or fine dining environment
- Preferred candidates would have at least 1-2 years of experience crafting and creating their own cocktails (with or without a portfolio)
- Ideal candidates will have at least one (2) years of bar supervisory experience
- Level 1 sommelier/WSET certification preferred (possible opportunity to attain upon employment)
- Strong spirit and classic cocktail knowledge
- Ability to research and stay in touch with current liquor and cocktail trends
- Experienced in using percentages and pricing menu items based on cost and spirit rarity
- Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills
- Proactive; exercises good judgment; can creatively problem solve and anticipate needs of guests
- Strong organizational skills; must be able to multi-task and prioritize work
