Role OverviewAssists in supervising the operation and maintenance of City buildings, institutions, or plants. Assigns and monitors work activities of personnel engaged in operation and maintenance of boilers, pumps, and related equipment.
What You Will Do
Inspects equipment, assigns work activities, and implements safety and training programs. Performs emergency repairs, orders supplies, and logs repair activities.
Why It Might Be a Fit
Requires advanced knowledge of safety principles, steam and electric heating equipment, and routine testing and inspection activities. Must have considerable knowledge of building and facility maintenance and repair methods.
Requirements
- Three years of work experience in operation and maintenance of high-pressure boilers, pumping units, and related mechanical equipment
- One year of supervisory experience
- Valid Stationary Engineer's license issued by the City of Chicago
- Certification as a Universal technician as required by 40CFR Part 82 Subpart F of the EPA
- Valid State of Illinois Driver's License
