Role OverviewThe New York City Department of Transportation, Division of Bridges is responsible for managing the full life cycle of over 800 bridges and tunnels. Team members may work on major project designs, oversee construction, and perform engineering reviews and quality assurance tasks.
What You Will Do
Perform in-depth, routine, special, and emergency inspections of bridges and tunnels using various equipment and tools. Prepare bridge condition sketches and inspection reports. Identify and prioritize potential hazards.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AutoCAD and MS office suite, and be able to perform inspections in all weather conditions. A driver's license valid in the state of New York with no restrictions is preferred.
Requirements
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in civil engineering
- One year of full-time satisfactory experience in civil engineering work
- A Master's degree from an accredited college in civil engineering
