Role OverviewThe Family Court Division's Juvenile Justice practice is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Corporation Counsel (ACC) in the Juvenile Justice practice. The ideal candidate is a strong, compassionate litigator who is committed to obtaining fair and just results. They excel at investigation, negotiation, hearings, and trial. They use their skills to obtain rehabilitative outcomes that are mandated by law and which address the needs and best interest of the youth and the need for the protection of the community.
What You Will Do
Handle cases involving youth under the age of 18 who are charged with committing acts, which if committed by an adult, would be a crime. Interact with members of the public, city agencies, the court, and counsel. Participate in a limited rotation of night and weekend court assignments and may be required to attend community events in the evening and weekend hours.

Requirements
- Graduate from an ABA accredited law school
- Admitted and in good standing in New York
- Substantial litigation experience in criminal/juvenile justice/social service
- Ability to work independently

- Strong interpersonal skills
- Solid knowledge of criminal law, Juvenile Justice Law, appellate, and evidentiary issues

- Salary: $122,300-137,188 (5-10 years of legal experience)
- Salary: $137,188-$159,521 (10-15 years of legal experience)
