Job Description
The New York City Law Department is seeking admitted attorneys for a Senior Counsel position in the Affirmative Litigation Division. The Division focuses on representing the City in federal and state cases, including those involving public policy, fiscal protection, and property damage. Attorneys will be responsible for managing cases and handling a caseload, potentially with increased in-person responsibilities during court appearances. The firm offers opportunities to work remotely and participate in a pilot program to test the effectiveness of the program.

Requirements

  • Admitted and in good standing in New York.
  • Experience leading litigation teams and independently managing a caseload.
  • Strong interpersonal, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Experience as a plaintiff in litigation preferred.
  • Experience with false claims act litigation preferred.
  • Commitment to public service.
