Job Description
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks an Assistant Director of Development to join the UAB School of Nursing Office of Development and Alumni Relations (ODAR). The position is expected to solicit and close mid-level gifts in support of the UAB School of Nursing. The Assistant Director of Development will work closely with ODAR’s Program Manager II, Alumni Affairs Specialist, and the Senior Director of Development II to engage with members of the School of Nursing Board of Visitors and Junior Board of Visitors, including securing corporate and individual sponsorships for their annual fundraising event.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business or a related field
  • Three (3) years of related experience required
  • Ability to work competently within CRM
  • Intermediate knowledge of fundraising techniques (qualifying, asks, objections, messaging)
  • Portfolio development / management
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a high functioning team
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and persuasively
  • Advanced writing skills
  • Presentation skills
  • Intermediate project management
  • Knowledge of HIPAA-compliant fundraising practices in healthcare philanthropy
