Assistant Director, Development Marketing & Communications

The Assistant Director, Development Marketing & Communications will establish and drive NYU's fundraising and stewardship marketing and digital communications efforts. This includes crafting compelling narratives, writing and building digital communications and event registration pages, and creating resources and materials to strengthen philanthropic support. The role will focus on NYU's science and tech work, drafting high-quality, highly personalized fundraising documents, and overseeing email marketing, narrative storytelling, and event management for key donor groups.

What You Will Do

The successful candidate will draft a range of high-quality, highly personalized fundraising documents, including proposals, case statements, concept papers, cover letters, gift status reports, talking points, and other cultivation/fundraising materials. They will also oversee email marketing, narrative storytelling, and event management for key donor groups at NYU.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• 5+ years relevant experience in fundraising, grant writing and editing, digital communications, and science-focused writing in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Excellent written communication and research skills
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to translate complex scientific information into effective fundraising documents
• Ability to write in different voices and styles to most effectively engage various donors
• Strong command of digital communications tools for email marketing, event management, and project management

• Annual base salary range: USD $75,000.00 to USD $95,000.00
