Role Overview

The Assistant Director of Academic Administration (ADAA) is responsible for the day-to-day operations, planning, and administrative leadership of the Architecture Division. In partnership with the Dean of Architecture, the ADAA leads efficient operations of the division by working closely with the program chairs within the division: Architecture, Graduate Architecture, and Interior Design.

What You Will Do

The ADAA coordinates the division’s planning and operations, including budget management and oversight, event planning and coordination, and internal and external communications. The ADAA also acts as the division’s central administrative liaison, managing and ensuring the timely resolution of incoming operational requests.

The ADAA works closely with the Senior Director of Academic Affairs Administration & Initiatives and the other ADAAs to streamline processes and workflow across Academic Affairs.

Requirements

  • 3-4 years of administrative experience at an educational or nonprofit organization, or other similar environment.
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Demonstrated ability to work in an open and diverse community of staff, faculty and students with the ability to engage with divergent views while building consensus and collegiality.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; competent with multi-tasking, prioritizing, and sustaining focus amidst frequent interruptions.
  • Experience with social media and event coordination.
  • Able to follow direction with minimum oversight, work independently as needed, as well as collaboratively and effectively across departments and stakeholder groups is required.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, resolve problems quickly and demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion.
  • Familiarity with and ability to apply technological solutions.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, Google Apps, Excel and data entry required.
