Role Overview

The Assistant Director of Development will work closely with the Office of Development and Alumni Relations (ODAR) to engage with members of the School of Nursing Board of Visitors and Junior Board of Visitors, including securing corporate and individual sponsorships for their annual fundraising event. This position will also execute fundraising strategies to raise mid-level gifts in support of the UAB School of Nursing.

What You Will Do

The Assistant Director of Development will work with other members of ODAR, the Dean's Office, and the University Advancement Services staff to ensure that potential gift prospects are properly researched and assigned, that all solicitations are coordinated and completed, and that donors receive appropriate acknowledgments and recognition.

Why It Might Be a Fit

This position requires a strong ability to work competently within CRM, intermediate knowledge of fundraising techniques, and portfolio development management. The ideal candidate will also have demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and persuasively, advanced writing skills, and presentation skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business or a related field
  • Three (3) years of related experience
  • Minimum 3 years of fundraising or equivalent experience

Benefits

  • Annual Salary Range: $47,665 to $66,000
  • Hybrid-eligible after the probationary period
