Role OverviewWe are seeking a hands-on, solutions-driven Assistant Director of Engineering to help lead the Engineering team at our dynamic, unionized New York City lifestyle hotel. This role is ideal for a leader who thrives in a fast-paced, design-forward environment and takes pride in maintaining both the visible and behind-the-scenes elements that shape the guest experience.
What You Will Do
Support the daily operations of the Engineering department across guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas, lead, coach, and collaborate with union engineering colleagues, and maintain the aesthetic and functional integrity of a design-forward lifestyle hotel.

Requirements
- 3–5+ years of engineering leadership experience, preferably in a full-service or lifestyle hotel
- Experience working in a union environment strongly preferred
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems
- Familiarity with New York City codes and compliance requirements
- NYC Fire Safety Director (FSD) certification
- EPA Certification
- Trade licenses or additional technical certifications are a plus
Benefits
- Salary Range: $90,000 - $115,000 Annually
