Role Overview

The Assistant Director of Finance supports the Director of Finance in overseeing all financial operations of the hotel, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and adherence to financial regulations and standards. This position is responsible for the oversight of the hotel's Finance Department’s day-to-day operations, maintaining internal controls, partnering with managers on expense management and general ledger operations, providing training to finance team members and special projects as assigned, in line with Hyatt Corporate standards while meeting guest and owner expectations.

What You Will Do

Prepare and review all journal entries, month-end reports, and reconciliations. Review preliminary financial statements with Director of Finance. Participate in monthly financial reviews and support Director of Finance with the presentation of these reports. Supervise Finance and Procurement staff and the Information Technology functions of the hotel including coaching and counseling associates to reflect Hyatt service standards and procedures, interviewing, training, and evaluating performance of staff.

Requirements

  • 3 years or more of finance career progression
  • Experience in hospitality, retail, or related industry
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Hospitality, Business or related field
  • Experience supervising/directing staff members
  • Prior POS (Simphony, Infrasys), PMS (Opera), Oracle, ADP/Enterprise, Kronos, expertise
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
