Role Overview

The Assistant Director of Food and Beverage is a highly visible leadership role within the Food and Beverage operation at Park Hyatt New York. This position oversees and manages the hotel's primary restaurant outlet, The Living Room, as well as In-Room Dining operations, while supporting oversight of all Food and Beverage related areas and outlets operated by Hyatt, inclusive of the Banquets Department. The role operates in tandem with the Director of Outlets, both serving as primary leaders of the F&B Department, reporting into the Director of Operations.

What You Will Do

Responsible for short and long term planning and management of Food and Beverage operations in the front and back of the house. Develop and recommend the budget, marketing plans and objectives, and manage within approved plans. Implement, review, and maintain F&B sales/marketing programs. Direct and oversee development of employees, including hiring, training, empowering, coaching, counseling, and performance/yearly salary review for Assistant F&B managers. Direct implementation of payroll, reports, forecasts, inventory, and budget for food and beverage operations. Coordinate with other hotel departments to ensure efficient guest service, resolve customer complaints, and implement procedures to increase guest and associate satisfaction.

Requirements

  • 6 years or more of progressive hotel Food and Beverage experience (typically with Hyatt)
  • At least 5 years experience in a senior role in a food and beverage environment
  • Service oriented style with professional presentations skills
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, proven track record in high volume concept, effective communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service and ability to improve the bottom line
  • Clear concise written and verbal communication skills in English
