Role OverviewThe New York City Department of Design and Construction is seeking a highly motivated attorney to provide legal support across a broad range of matters, including contract drafting and review, procurement, construction, insurance, environmental, and employment law. The selected candidate will work as in-house counsel, providing legal guidance on various matters and conducting research on laws, rules, and regulations.
What You Will Do
The Assistant General Counsel will conduct various types of legal work, including reviewing and revising contract documents, performing litigation support activities, reviewing agency responses to the public, evaluating conflicts of interest, and preparing funding and security agreements.

Requirements
- Admission to the New York State Bar
- One year of satisfactory United States legal experience subsequent to admission to any state bar
- Six months of satisfactory service as an Agency Attorney Interne (30086)
- One year of experience at Assignment Level I or two years of comparable legal experience subsequent to admission to the bar, in the areas of law related to the assignment (for Assignment Level II)
- Two years of experience in Assignment Levels I and/or II or three years of comparable legal experience subsequent to admission to the bar, in the areas of law related to the assignment (for Assignment Level III)
