Role Overview

The Assistant Human Resources Director is a key member of the hotel's leadership team and serves as the operational partner to the Director of Human Resources. This role is responsible for leading the day-to-day Human Resources function, overseeing all Human Resources office administration, and fostering a culture that reflects Hyatt's purpose of caring for people so they can be their best.

What You Will Do

The ideal candidate will lead the day-to-day Human Resources function, oversee payroll administration, timekeeping, and HR compliance processes, administer compensation, salary, wage, and organizational change administrative processes, and lead workforce planning, full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, orientation, and offboarding.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience
  • Minimum of two years of Human Resources experience within a hotel environment or equivalent hospitality leadership experience
  • Strong Human Resources generalist experience required
  • Demonstrated experience in payroll administration, employee relations, talent acquisition, and training and development
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong working knowledge of California employment law and Human Resources compliance
  • Proven leadership, coaching, relationship-building, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent judgment, discretion, and ability to manage confidential information
  • Exceptional written, verbal, interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, including intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
