Job Description
The Assistant Lab Manager is a detail-oriented individual who supports daily lab operations. This person works directly with the lab manager(s), providing technical and administrative support, where appropriate.

Requirements

  • Work with the Lab Manager to ensure optimal operational processes and adherence to key performance metrics
  • Help enforce all laboratory safety and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Assist with quality control, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assist in training and onboarding of new laboratory staff
  • Help oversee laboratory supply ordering, inventory management, and cost control
  • Coordinate staff scheduling, workflow, and project milestones with the Lab Manager and support staff
  • Assist in scheduling routine instrument maintenance and service activities
  • Support existing SOPs and assist in developing or updating SOPs as needed
  • Support inspection readiness, audits, and regulatory reviews
  • Lead laboratory operations in the Lab Manager’s absence
