Role OverviewThe Assistant Maintenance will assist the maintenance supervisor and maintain the physical integrity of the property. They will work with the leasing team to maximize renewal and leasing opportunities, and ensure all duties are carried out with safety first and according to Valiant Residential policies.
What You Will Do
The Assistant Maintenance will complete service requests within 24 hours, implement and manage the system for handling resident service requests, and assist with on-call rotation. They will also perform minor and routine maintenance, inspect and maintain tools, and diagnose and perform minor or routine maintenance or repair.

Requirements
- A minimum of two years of full-time experience in apartment maintenance or a trade that requires basic knowledge of electricity, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and HVAC
- High school diploma or equivalent
- EPA (refrigerant, transition, and recovery certification)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
- Own a basic set of hand tools
- Valid driver’s license with good driving record and auto insurance
- Ability to perform work responsibilities at other locations and ability to travel within major metropolitan areas with possible overnight stays in other cities
