Role OverviewThe Texas Department of Transportation is seeking an Assistant Maintenance Section Supervisor II to oversee a group of maintenance and/or clerical employees responsible for providing a safe driving thoroughfare within a designated geographical area. The role requires responding to emergency notifications, handling public complaints, and inspecting maintenance contract work. The supervisor will assist in budget preparation, planning, and implementing emergency response to inclement weather, accidents, and hazardous spills.
What You Will Do
The Assistant Maintenance Section Supervisor II will assign and oversee the work of section and contracted crews, ensure all projects follow established safety guidelines, and maintain records on materials, supplies, and personnel. The role also involves training employees on the use of equipment and procedures, performing other job responsibilities as assigned, and working independently on assignments.
