Job Description
We are seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Ancient Greek or Roman Art History to begin Fall 2026. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to global approaches to the field of art history and have an active research profile. The applicant's research and teaching would complement current departmental expertise and contribute to the Department's efforts to diversify the curriculum, on the undergraduate and graduate level.

Requirements

  • PhD in art history or a related field by the time of hire
  • Proven capacity for research potential
  • Engaged and excellent teaching
  • Commitment to creating inclusive and accessible spaces for all students
  • Evidence of scholarly research, including publication in peer-reviewed venues
  • Evidence of external funding to support research activities
  • Ability to teach a range of undergraduate courses, from introductory to upper-level, and graduate courses
  • Ability to mentor and advise students from different backgrounds
  • Contribution to departmental, college, and university service
