Role Overview

The Assistant Resident Engineer will perform daily field inspections, document work progress, and verify contractor compliance with contract documents. This is a field-intensive role requiring strong technical knowledge, documentation skills, and experience working in regulated public infrastructure environments.

What You Will Do

Conduct thorough inspections, prepare daily inspection reports, photograph and document site activities, and assist in updating red-line drawings and maintaining accurate as-built documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • NICET Level II or Level III Certification
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing with no significant points
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification
  • Familiarity with local construction standards, reporting requirements, and public contract administration
  • Experience on projects involving NYC agencies (e.g., DOT, DEP, DDC, MTA)
