Job Description
The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for leading sales, merchandising, and operational tasks assigned by store management. They work directly with the Store Manager and Leadership Team to develop sales, recruit new teammates, and provide leadership. The role involves training and motivating teammates, acting as the Store Manager in their absence, and sharing responsibility for store operations.

Requirements

  • Greet guests with a friendly, engaging attitude
  • Recommend and sell merchandise to guests
  • Anticipate and fulfill guests' needs
  • Maintain and share knowledge of current sales and promotions
  • Achieve personal sales and total net sales goals
  • Provide legendary service throughout the store
  • Investigate and navigate how to expand guest selection
  • Lead by example with a high level of showmanship and customer service
  • Coach and create relationships with new teammates
  • Develop skills and assist in leading, directing, and motivating new teammates
  • Maintain a positive attitude and create a positive floor culture
  • Demonstrate personal dress code and encourage coaching of the latest fashion
  • Participate effectively in daily setup, training, and reviewing
  • Motivate teammates to initiate and complete daily tasks
  • Create and develop results in the department and balance all DM actions
  • Execute actions from department calendars and track on the Weekly Delegation Worksheet
  • Demonstrate leadership actions during segments
  • Understand and execute all policies regarding payments, returns, exchanges, and Loss Prevention practices
  • Complete all scheduled shifts and cover shifts when needed
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and shoppable store
  • Provide feedback to Store Manager and Leadership Team regarding merchandise handling concerns
  • Communicate any policy violations and teammate or guest concerns to Store Manager, District Manager, and/or Human Resources
  • Understand and apply the Buckle's Code of Ethics and all policies, procedures, and handbooks
